The standard, named
This website targets WCAG 2.2, Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, W3C Recommendation). The version matters: 2.2 contains all of 2.1, so conformance work against it also answers obligations still framed on 2.1.
Conformance status
Assessed against WCAG 2.2 AA using automated testing (axe-core across every page, zero violations at assessment) and manual passes: full keyboard operation of every page and the contact path, reduced-motion verification, and zoom to 200%. Content remains available with JavaScript disabled, including the self-check page, whose questions and implications are plain text.
Design decisions made for accessibility
- Body text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, a face designed by the Braille Institute for low-vision readers.
- Every text/background pair in use is recorded with its computed contrast ratio; the lowest in use is 5.59:1, above the 4.5:1 AA floor.
- Focus indicators are 2px, offset, at 8:1 contrast against both page grounds.
- No accessibility overlay widget is used, deliberately — overlays mask symptoms and this desk remediates code, including its own.
- Motion is minimal and honours prefers-reduced-motion.
Known exceptions
None known at the assessment date. If you find one, it is a bug, not a policy.
